Externally, the hall is a splendid example of Victorian Gothic Revival Architecture.
Notable details include:
- Gothic windows with carved stone surrounds
- Steeply pitched roofs with finials
- Original cast iron down pipes and guttering
- Dressed stone south and east facing elevations
- Carved stones from the Abbey have been built into the walls of the house and the garden.
Internally, all 52 rooms have been restored to create a marriage of style and beauty accenting their original features.
This is so through:
- The formal reception rooms and bedrooms
- The former domestic quarters
- The cellars and garden room.
Items from a life time of collecting form part of the 'style impact' in each of the rooms.
